Modernization / Remodeling

Project overview

Modernization/remodeling of existing architecture revitalizes this "starter" house, giving meaning and structure to it with modern keeping in mind modern living. It is "green" design in that it retains most of the existing structure while enhancing its built environment. On the street side, a main entrance welcomes visitors into a foyer and hallway. Opening up the floor plan improves circulation and flow among existing spaces. A window tower allows more natural light to bathe what were dark interiors, especially the second floor bedrooms and bathroom. These windows also provide ample viewing into the surrounding landscape. While on the back side, the dining room is enlarged and remodeled along with an outdoor covered dining space to encourage outdoor living.
